Saturday night we were robbed. My boyfriend and I went to go get some cookie dough to eat while we decorated christmas ornaments (they are cute ornaments...really cute, I say). When we pulled into the driveway, some guy jumped out of my backyard.

I was wondering what the heck they were doing in my backyard when all of a sudden another guy jumps out of my bedroom window. At that point, I said some unmentionable words and then proceeded to state the obvious: They are robbing our house!

My boyfriend then takes off down the alley to see if he can find them or beat any thing out of them, but he got worried about me sitting in his car alone with the doors locked (hey, I am not dumb).

He comes back and we find the front door open. We go into the house and see that they were looting the house. Everything was in bags and pillow cases.

We went to my room to see what had happened there and it was a mess--I promise, the mess wasn't my fault. I asked if I should call 911, which I proceeded to do.

I will say something. The Tucson police were really quick tonight. They were polite, quick, and responsive. I appreciate that. A lot.

Right before I hung up on the operator, I began to cry. I also needed to call the owners of the house, which I also did. By now it was right around 11 oclock. She got there in like 20 minutes. When I was on the phone with her, the police came.

They ended up going through the house, doing their thing, assessing the damage, seeing where the house was compromised (my window...because I had left it open a crack for some fresh air), that sort of thing. It was a good thing that the backdoor was double locked.

Anyway, everyone was called and began arriving.

After a while, it was found that most of the laptops were missing out of the other girls' rooms along with some stereo equipment and that sort of thing. Nothing was missing out of my room except my cell phone (damn them, how am I going to call my parents?) and my boyfriends digital camera, peacoat (what the heck?!), and watch.

My wallet was still there along with my purse, jewelry, and computer. My assumption was that they were going to do my room last. Get all the backrooms and then go through the last room. Which would explain why hardly anything was missing out of my room.

Either that, or they thought my stuff was crappy. To say the least, I was a little insulted. Not only did they break into my room and house, but they also didn't take any of my stuff because they didn't think it was worth anything. Bah. Retards.

Oh, the other funny thing was that they stole the keys out of my roommates room. The keys that were the masters to the house. But instead of stealing the outside door keys, they just stole the keys to the rooms. Heh.

When one of the girls arrived, the first thing her boyfriend asked was if they looked like the guys who had stopped by to solicit for magazines.

What had happened was that earlier that day around 1230, two men saw my roommate leaving the house and asked if she wanted any magazines. They also asked if she was "420 happy." Heh. They had said a bunch of other things but she shook them off and left.

Right after that, they headed for the front door and my other roommate was asked if she wanted to buy any magazines, to which she said no. But they wouldnt leave her alone and kepting asking to get inside to talk because it was raining outside. So finally she shut the door and went to ask me if I wanted anything. To which I said no, but when she told me that they wouldnt go away, I got angry and marched out there.

I told that, politely at first, that no, we were poor students and we didnt have any money at all. They responded saying that we didnt need any money at all. To which I got angry and told them that, "No we don't want any magazines. Now please go away." And I slammed the door in their faces. (hey, I don't mind being mean.)

All three of us got a good view of those two guys and so when my roommates boyfriend asked about them, I started thinking that yeah, perhaps it was the two same guys. The guys looked about the same height. They had the same build. Andone of them had the same hair color and hair style.

It was *so* them.

But yeah.

So my boyfriend and my roommates boyfriend who is in the air force both said that we all need some hand guns. The police officer on the other hand said that most firearms in the house get used against a person.

But the thing is...if I got one, would I really leave it around the house or would I carry it in my purse? I mean, if I got a gun I would carry it in my purse. Why would you leave it at home where its no good.

Her boyfriend was great though. In fact, he seemed to reiterate everything that Kevin from The Smallest Minority has said on his blog.

The only thing was, I had a hell of a time going back to sleep. And it wasnt because I was nervous. It wasn't because I was scared. It wasnt because I felt violated. In fact, I didn't even feel violated.

I felt angry. Very very very angry. And I still do. As I have been saying all day, I feel like freaking killing something. Or at the very least freaking bash someone's head in.

Hey, I'm so sorry about that. Despite the police officer's warning, I'm still getting a handgun on my 21st birthday. It's when people decide to leave the handgun nearer to the broken window than themselves that the handguns are used against them. God bless.

Yea, I talked to someone from the Sheriff's department who said that the officer was full of BS.  Its the people who don't know how to use their gun or actually use it who have it turned against them.

And actually, several people have noted that we should get a shotgun.  Its legal for all of us and it has a hell of a psychological impact on some people.
